GINGER CREMES
1/2 c. molasses
1 c. soft butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs (beaten) 3 c. flour 1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
2 t. cinnamon
2 t. ginger
1 t. clove
1/2 t. cayenne pepper (this is where the cookies get their magical powers)
Preheat oven to 350ยบ. Mix molasses, butter, sugar and egg. Separately mix flour, salt, soda and spices. Add dry to wet and stir until smooth. Place spoonfuls an inch apart, they spread! Bake 10 minutes.
Icing:
2 c. powdered sugar
2 T. soft butter
1 T. cream
2 t. vanilla 1/2 t. cinnamon 1/4 t. ginger 1/4 t. clove
water
Beat sugar and butter until crumbly. Add cream, vanilla and spices. Beat until smooth and spreadable. Add water if too stiff. Wait until cookies are completely cooled to frost.
