Heh. I have no life. Know how I know that? I've been Googling Captain America. He doesn't seem to have as good a fanbase as Spidey. There's no analogue to, say, Spideykicksbutt. It's harder to find intelligent articles and whatnot. There are still some interesting things out there, though.
There is a Captain America rock ballad. Yes, really. Came out October of last year, not long after he died. "A rock opera about the Marvel Comics superhero, Captain America, by independent singer/songwriter Will Kouf. This is set during World War II and Captain America's origin. This is Will's fourth album, info on his other music can be found on his website at http://www.geocities.com/segasaturn_1"

(Waugh! The pic is bigger on the LJ than on the site!)
It's... mm... well, kind of mediocre. I wouldn't shut it off automatically in pain, but neither would I learn the lyrics and rock to it. Or even pay much attention, really. Frankly, it's rather lame and sort of uninspired. But I am lame and love Cap, so I went and listened to all of it anyway. The best songs are, uh, "I'm Here To Help", and I guess "Don't Worry", and "What's Your Name" is okay. Same with the instrumental "The Final Confrontation". That's not saying much. Not very good music. Well, it's free, and I got to listen to it without downloading anything, so it's not like I lost any money on it.
The writer's done a little research, at least, but it's pretty meh. The singing is just bad. Writing, too. And there's just one singer for all of it, so I have no idea who's supposed to be talking at any given moment. The Red Skull's here, and apparently got the Serum before Steve did, before the scientist defected to the US side. ...And apparently at some point Skull beats Steve and lets him live because "You're just a kid!" There are no other superheroes. Or sidekicks. I admit to seeing some subtext between "Lars" and Steve in "Aftermath". "The army gave me super strength, but you gave me love". I assume he's singing to Lars, because no names are mentioned. There were no women in the song, and "Lars" was the name mentioned in "What's Your Name".
"A Man to Inspire", "The News Report", and "Victory" were apparently supposed to sound like war-era radio reports. Meh. I wonder what else is out there. I think I'm going to have to try Amazon for "Captain America: Liberty's Torch by Tony Isabella and Bob Ingersoll". Didn't know there was a book. Came out ten years ago.
I like Cap! I've realized that a lot of my little crushes are on blondes, with blue eyes as a plus. There was Link from Legend of Zelda. There was Vivian. Ashley. Kerowyn, from novels. Probably a few that I'm forgetting. And Steve Rogers. Of course, Steve Rogers. Apparently I like blondes. Kind of weird, all things considered.
There was a "What If" I read some years ago, where Cap was created during the Civil War. No, the other Civil War. The one with Lincoln. At the time, I didn't have any idea about who was who. I wish I could read it again now. Naturally, it's nowhere to be found.
