Hello Livejournal.

This TVTropes article here?  MADE OF WIN.  "Ho Yay".  There's no way around saying it, and it'll look bad, but I'll just do a bit of copy and pasting.

"Homoeroticism, Yay! "

"As introduced by jengod on the Television Without Pity / Mighty Big TV Angel forums, any same-gender relationship that appears to be more than "just good friends."  Primarily used for male/male relationships and seemingly based on the depressing and insulting idea that men are incapable of having close friendships with each other based on something other than sex. The less common female/female equivalent is often referred to as LesYay.

"Alternately, those moments of plot, dialogue, acting, etc., that draw attention to the homoerotic so-called Subtext in that relationship. Thank you, Dr. Freud."

Yes, it does sound terrible, but I'm highly amused!  Some of the things in the entry are familiar to me, others aren't, but a lot of these are just explicit enough to make me laugh.

" The Transformers: Energon comic villain duo Snow Cat and Demolishor spent the latter part of the series being very, very close. They were almost never seen apart from each other and found excuses to hug in several scenes. In addition, the Decepticon Mirage had about as obvious a crush on Galvatron as you can find in a children's television show, mourning that Galvatron "doesn't know how much I care about him", swooning when he gained another powerup and grew to greater heights and on one very strange occasion spoke of him in loving terms after transforming in a ballerina-like pose with a glowing pink heart displayed in the background behind him. This was stressed even more in the Japanese pre-dub, in which the previously mentioned line was originally "Nobody loves Galvatron more than I do!". It doesn't help that Mirage is purple."

Aang: "Zuko, I want you to dance with me!"

Zuko: "What?"

BHAHAHA!

Why do I find it so entertaining?  I haven't a clue.  Evidently I like shipping.  When it gets to the point of, oh, slash, I'm disgusted and revolted.  I like hints of romance, between pretty much any likeable characters, but when it comes to hints of sex I prefer to stay away.

...  Well, okay.  I have no problem with hints of sex.  Depending on the characters.  I just don't like to see/read it.  Instant squick.

OBJECTION!  I am headed far off topic!

Back on relatively saner grounds...

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney series.  My old roommate introduced me to it.  She gave me the first two games, said that once she'd played the third(which at that point had yet to come out) she'd give it to me too.

She didn't, of course, because she moved out without so much as dropping a hint.  Which was quite upsetting to me.  She annoyed me sometimes, but she liked videogames.  Introduced me to the "iObject" pics too.  They make me laugh.  That's my sig for this post - Edgeworth silhouette, ipod earbuds, and that cravat.  I less than three that cravat.  Previously to my finding this image, I'd seen Wright iObject pics, but none of the others.  Heh.

I like the games a lot.  Nice blend of silly and serious, funny and (sometimes) deep.  The legal system is not remotely realistic, but it's a lot of fun.  And I can't help thinking that Edgeworth and Wright really do seem to have strong feelings about each other...

Eurogamer's reviews are very funny, if you've played the games and know what the reviewers are talking about.   I've been trying to find Trials and Tribulations for a while now - I saw it once before the heavily commercialized winter holiday, but I was hoping that my sibs would take my copious hints and buy it for me.

Since then, I haven't seen it anywhere.  The really popular games and the licensed crap; that's all I found.  Ace Attorney isn't exactly obscure, but it's not Pokemon either.  Or a random movie tie-in.  Which is apparently all that Best Buy and FYE carry; they are, after all, the moneymakers.  Sigh.

Well, it's been ordered over Amazon, along with Dead Rising for my little brother.  One of the two, I don't know which, comes in the next week or so.  I have no interest in zombie games.  I want to play Trials and Tribulations!
