Less than a month, now, and I turn eighteen. Eighteen. Catch me off-guard and ask my age, and my first impulse is till "Fourteen". Where have the years gone? I still don't know what I want to do. I have many interests, but career?
I'm not going to be able to get all As this semester like I did last one. Last semester's classes were easy; I'm not sure why the hard stuff was lumped in on the end. All-As would raise my GPA just that little bit higher, enough to pay for this one special scholarship that would pay for the first year all by itself. I've been accepted into Adrian, but.... it's expensive.
In other news, on the bus to and from school I've been playing Pokemon Emerald. Specifically, for the past few weeks I've been trying to catch a creature called "Feebas". It can be fished out of any of a random ever-changing six tiles in four hundred tiles of fishable water.
Six out of four hundred. That's... uh... three out of two hundred, one and a half in every hundred. Not the best odds, and I have no way of knowing when it changes.
Feebas, I have discovered(or, more properly, the Deluvian fatworm of a programmer who came up with this gimmick), is THE MOST EVIL BEING ALIVE. Not "ever", but close.
I have spent so much time trying to find it. The bus ride to school takes about thirty minutes. Same with from school. And I've snuck a few minutes here and there, too. I hate this. But, of course, I'm a stubborn narglack, and now that I've committed myself to doing this I will not stop.
Though it drives me near to madness, I fish on.
In this game, you don't come up with a fish every time you use a Fishing Rod. You get a fish maybe... one in five, I think. And every time I've come up with a fish it's been a Caravanha. I hate Caravanha. The animation I get when I hook one takes too long; so does the animation when my leading Pokemon comes out to face it. And it rains constantly, making it take even longer as a moment is taken while the game says "it is raining" and shows me the "raining" animation.
And I have to hook multiple Caravanha before deciding that this particular tile is a Feebas-free zone. I've looked it up online, and various guides reccomend getting five or six before moving on.
That's been cut to two. Frustration does that to a girl.
Feebas and the Deluvian fatworm-type people who decided to make it so fracking hard to catch are the most evil beings alive.
Thank you.
