Mar. 20th, 2006 04:00 pmI draw on myself.
It's fun.
You just take an ink pen- I prefer ballpoint myself, but hey- scribble it on some kind of paper to get it working, and then turn its blessedly cold, sharp point on your skin.
I like eyes and scales best.
Given incentive and enough time, I'll scale my entire arm from shoulder to fingernail, excepting the undersides of my hands and that stretch of skin on my upper arm that I just CANNOT REACH. It's an interesting effect, a little like arm hair and a lot not.
Or I'll eye it. You can't overlap eyes very well, but you can speckle yourself.
I'm right-handed, but there's still some dexterity in my left hand, so I get some on both arms.
I don't cut myself or nuke my skin in a tanning bed or get tatoos or anything.
I just take up a ballpoint pen and draw.
It doesn't hurt, the inkings come off in the shower, and if people are nasty behind my back about it, I don't hear it. If they're so deprived that putting me down is their sole source of pleasure, let them.
My mother, naturally, has to be a total... total... well, a schutta about it.
(What's a schutta? Ask a Twi'lek. It's not flattering)
She tells me to "stop cutting yourself", that everyone at school will think I'm a "freak", in mocking tones she tell me that we'll go to a tattoo parlor someday soon.
I didn't want to say this, but... You're a schutta, Mom. You're a di'kutla schutta, and I don't believe your stories about how perfect you were at my age. Any more than I believed that if I didn't fuss about acne my face would rot and worms would appear.
Thank you.
